The start of a new year is always a good time to examine your Bible reading plan. Any time of the year will work, but a new year gives you a new starting point. As a teenager, I remember a preacher challenging the youth to read their Bibles through from Genesis to Revelation. I was a junior in high school, and I took the challenge. It was one of my greatest accomplishments. Over recent years, I have chosen different passages to read for my devotions and daily readings, but I wanted to go back and read my Bible from cover to cover again. This time, I have tried to find a thought or a word of encouragement that can be applicable to me personally. I would like to share that with you as well. Each thought will be a just for today word of encouragement or challenge. Remember that you can’t do everything in one day. But you can do one thing just for today.
I have linked the daily Bible reading plan here, and you can print it and use it as you’d like. Maybe trying to read the Bible through in one year seems overwhelming. If so, don’t set that as your goal. Spread it out over two years. Or don’t set a time limit on it at all. Just for today, set a goal to read your Bible, and take it one verse at a time.
