Applications from 1 Kings

The Story: 1 Kings 6:8-38

Last time we saw the exterior of the Temple and all of its details. Now we see the finishing of the interior of the Temple and all the details that make this up.

The Application:

Good Things Take Time, 1 Kings 6:37-38

It took Solomon seven years to complete the work. David spent a while working out the plans. This was not a “fly-by-night” deal with little planning, and the end result was a very beautiful Temple.

Good things take time. Modern consumerism has conditioned us to expect the best immediately. As soon as we have the latest phone or other gadget something better is available. New car models come out every year.

The best things come with time and work. Christian growth & maturity happens throughout a lifetime. Bible knowledge cannot all be gathered in one set amount of time, it is a gradual process of learning in conjunction with growth and maturity. True discipleship comes through relationships not just mass evangelism.

Good things take time.
