Applications from 1 Kings

The Story: 1 Kings 7:1-12

We ended chapter 6 with the Temple building being finished. In the first few verses of chapter 7 we read of Solomon building his palace. His own house would include his palace, personal dwellings, and places for his wife(s). Without going into great detail about the construction, I would like to make a few applications regarding the logistics.

The Application:

Equip yourself for the Work, 1 Kings 7:7

Solomon would not always be building. Solomon was King and his primary job was to rule. He was building now, but realized his true purpose and equipped himself to accomplish what he would need to later.

Equip yourself. What is you calling? What is your passion?  What is it that you mean to do before this life is over? You may be doing something different now, but along with that equip yourself for what you will do.

Many times we never act upon the ideas we have. The mentality is, “I’ll do this someday….” But, if you do not equip yourself along the way “someday” will never come.
