Sign-up on 12/1 to volunteer to serve in 2025! In place of our typical "nominations", this year will be have a Volunteer Sunday. If you want to serve in a specific role or on a specific committee, sign yourself up. (Please do not volunteer others.) On the following Sunday we will have a ballot election for the positions needed. Sign-ups will be posted at "Harpeth Happenings" in the lobby on the clip boards.

For more information contact a deacon or elder (Chance, Scotty, Preston, Caleb).

In 2025 we will need:

  • 1 Steward
  • 3 couples for the Youth Committee
  • 2-3 Stewards for the Lord's Table
  • 2 for the Decoration Committee
  • 1 Nursery Director
  • 1 for the Card Ministry

Stewards- The Stewards serve on the board for 3 years with a 1 year break between terms. Stewards attend a monthly 1-2 hour long meeting to look over the budget and other matters of the church. Those serving in this role should be willing to sit in meetings, have open discussions, and make decisions regarding what comes before the congregational meetings or doesn’t.

Youth Committee — The youth committee oversees the calendar of youth events each year. This group staffs or organizes staff for each of these events while working within the budget given by the Board. (i.e. VBS, Reformation festival, Christmas play, etc.)

Decoration Committee — The decoration committee seasonally puts out the decorations for the church building. The committee is called upon at times to select paint colors or furnishings.

Lord’s Table Stewards — These stewards prepare the elements monthly for the Lord’s table. In 2025 we will return to juice and bread instead of the prepackaged elements.

Nursery Director — The nursery director oversees the staffing, supplies, and furnishing of the nursery for children under age 3 (or infant until potty trained). This person should have administrative skills as well as people skills to be able to regularly recruit volunteers to fill out the nursery schedule.

Card Ministry — Those overseeing the card ministry send cards out from HBC for birthday and anniversaries. Materials and postage are provided. This is a good position for someone needing an “at home” role.

All who volunteer but are not elected will be added to a list of volunteers for that area in 2025.
