David said without a doubt that the promise he made to name Solomon King would be seen through. Today’s Christian should do likewise. There should never be a time when we purposely forsake our word. Surely there will be times when we had good intentions, but were prevented. Have you ever just forgotten something? We all do. There are even times when we want to but can’t. However, if at all possible we should do whatever necessary to keep our word. Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favour rather than silver and gold.” Likewise Ecclesiastes 7:1 states, “A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.”
