Last month I was in Portugal where Global Faith missionaries David and Sarah Booth minister. A highlight of the trip was visiting with the Booths and Amanda Bloom, an ABWE missionary, and seeing an important project in which they are involved.
Amanda and Sarah are collaborating with the Portuguese Bible Society to produce a video format of the Portuguese Bible in sign language. This is a long-term project that will take years to complete. Week by week and month by month, their work is David, Sarah, and Amanda - a team effort that began in 2003 taking them through the Scriptures with the during their university training and result being that deaf people can "see the Bible" continues to this day in sign language. Observing the Booths and Amanda minister together was a wonderful reminder of how their partnership began.
